SIREX® PE Expansionfoam 29

SIREX® PE Expansionfoam 29
EXPANSION JOINTS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
SIREX PE Expansion Foam 29 is a fine-celled physics branched PE foam. SIREX PE expansion foam 29 has a very fine and even cell structure. The standard thickness is 5 mm and can be laminated in multiples of 5 mm until the desired thickness is reached. The most common thicknesses are 5, 10, 20 and 30 mm. SIREX PE Expansion Foam 29 is chemically inert, odourless, environmentally friendly, recyclable and free of harmful chemical additives. SIREX PE expansion foam 29 is supplied in sheet form and is also available in strips and/or self-adhesive on request.
APPLICATIONS
SIREX PE Expansion Foam 29 is used as a dilatation joint in civil engineering, where the entire joint between the two joints is provided with SIREX PE Expansion Foam 29 to create space for expansion in the joint. The purpose of a dilatation joint is to prevent continuous (aquiferous) cracks in a concrete construction as much as possible. Cracks can occur due to tensile stresses in the construction caused by uneven settlements, shrinkage, creep and temperature differences. The joint also has a soil-, dirt- and/or water-repellent function. SIREX PE Expansion Foam 29 is used for joint fillings at the location of dilatation joints when applying lost formwork in bridge and road construction.
