PE foam from Sekisui Alveo<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

The PE foams produced by Sekisui Alveo are high quality physically crosslinked PE foams produced from a three-step process. The production steps are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Extrusion:<\/strong> In this first step, the polyethylene (PE) material is passed through an extruder. The extruder melts the PE and forms it into a continuous profile. This process gives the material the right density and structure for further processing.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Cross linking:<\/strong> After extrusion, the material undergoes a crosslinking process. Here, physical methods are applied to crosslink the molecular structure of the PE. This results in improved mechanical strength and flexibility of the foam.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Vertically or horizontally foamed:<\/strong> In the final step, the material is foamed, with the PE foam developing a three-dimensional cell structure. This can be done either vertically or horizontally, depending on the desired properties and applications of the final product. During this process, the foam takes its final shape and is often rolled up for transport and further processing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Sekisui Alveo’s foams have high-quality technical properties and are easy to process. The leading producer of these semi-finished products explicitly targets partners with whom it can cooperate intensively among itself, thus ensuring the company’s development lead.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    At ISMT, we mainly use the foams: Alveolit, Alveolen, Alveosoft and Alveobloc. Of these, the first three are produced on a roll. Alveobloc is produced as a block.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Alveolit is a type of PE foam characterised by its fine cell structure and excellent mechanical properties. This foam is often used in applications where high levels of insulation, cushioning, and durability are required. Alveolit offers an excellent balance between rigidity and flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.<\/span><\/p>\n
