SIREX PE Expansionfoam C33
EXPANSION JOINTS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
A chemically cross linked, closed-cell polyethylene foam. SIREX PE Expansion Foam C33 has a very fine and even cell structure. SIREX PE Expansion Foam C33 is highly elastic, water resistant and can therefore be used in various applications. SIREX PE Expansion Foam C33 is supplied in sheet form and is also available in strips and/or self-adhesive on request. Available in thicknesses of 20, 30 and 40 mm. The basic block is 100 mm and can be made thicker by gluing or thermal laminating.
Applications
SIREX PE Expansion Foam C33 is used as a sealant for dilatation joints in road and hydraulic engineering constructions, whereby the entire joint between the two batches is fitted with SIREX PE Expansion Foam P29 in order to create space for expansion in the joint.
The purpose of a dilatation joint is to prevent continuous (water-carrying) cracks in a concrete construction as much as possible. Cracks can occur as a result of tensile stresses in the construction caused by uneven settlements, shrinkage, creep and temperature differences. The joint also has a soil, dirt and/or water-repellent function. SIREX PE Dilatation Foam C33 is used for joint filling in the area of dilatation joints when installing permanent formwork in bridges and road construction.
In addition, SIREX PE Expansion Foam C33 can also be used as expansion cushion and serves to absorb the movements of the pipes at L-, Z- and U-bends, at T-pieces, at reducing and end sleeves and at valves.
