SIREX PE Sleeping Mats

As a specialist in the manufacture of our SIREX PE sleeping mats, ISMT is regularly asked by various defence forces and NATO to contribute ideas on the design of the right PE sleeping mat.

The SIREX PE defence sleeping mat is ideal as a multifunctional underlay for defence applications and is:

Lightweight (<360 g)

Insulating (1.32 US / 0.24 SI (λ value 0.039) at 10ºC)
Comfortable (uneven surfaces/small pebbles and twigs cannot be felt through the mat)
Skin-friendly (nitrogen-blown PE foam)

Sleeping mat with PE foil provides extra strength

We use copolymer block foam or rolls as a base. The block foams are injected with nitrogen during the production process. This ensures a fine-celled and uniform cell structure. Both the block and roll PE foams are highly elastic, inert and closed-cell.

The SIREX PE sleeping mat can be produced in various sizes, thicknesses and compositions, which meet all NATO and defence requirements.

Multifunctional use

Because the PE mat cannot leak, it can be used not only as a sleeping mat but also as a flotation device, when working on boats, and for many other applications. For SIREX PE defence sleeping mats, we often use the special colour NATO Green, which does not shine. All accessories used in various colours also do not shine. Other colours are also available on customer request. SIREX PE defence sleeping mats are approved by NATO.

The lightweight SIREX PE sleeping mat is easy to carry in or on your backpack and can be rolled up using woven polyester straps, stretch straps or elastic bands. The mat is often fitted with mesh eyelets to simplify the attachment of the straps and prevent the mat from tearing when rolled up.
